As fi bucurosa sa-mi impartasiti opiniile voastre!

The Golesti Museum is the only place nearby Pitesti where I choose to go every time I feel like returning to my inner being.

As a child I always enjoyed wandering around the hills nearby my grandparents’ home, to discover old abandoned houses, to step into their privacy and to imagine in detail the life of the people who used to live in those miniature, yet charming houses.

This time the purpose of my visit was different.

I like excitement! You may be wondering which aspect prevails when choosing a location – research or pure hazard. This time it was something like: fast forward, the sun sets, this is it, STOP HERE!

Taking pictures in 15 minutes with two fiery security agents working in the museum, who wanted to throw you out before you even stepped inside the building, with a photographer who throws away his phone, fed up with all the fighting and the negative attitudes of the museum staff…. These aren’t fairy tales; these are real stories of how things go sometimes… switching to never I wish!

I left delighted that I accomplished what I had in mind, yet thinking about the Museum of the Romanian village that I left behind, about the lifestyle of people who lived a long time ago, the kind of people who still greet each other on the rocky roads of the village, though they don’t know each other.

An old lady, surely, would have given us a warm welcome and would have invited us inside, asking us to sit at a round, small, cracked wooden table surrounded by small 3-legged chairs… the smell of a bean stew with thyme boiling in a clay pot on a trivet standing right over the hot embers would have definitely engulfed our senses in the most pleasant atmosphere ever! No schedule, no locked door, no deadline! ∞ kindness!

I am grateful to the Manager of the Golesti Museum who gave us the opportunity to live this experience, for her understanding and trust considering that visiting hours were over.

I would happily receive your opinions!

There is no end.
There is no beginning.
There is only the infinite passion of life.
